Gee . . . I should have used some smiley faces in there! It does come across as pompous! Shame on me for not inserting the emtions meant when typing.

Well, I think next time you will use a backing fabric! And this time you will have to do the best you can, which may mean a few stitches on the face of the work, if there's nothing nearby to use as an anchor!

Hopefully you have used a backing fabric.
I probably should've used a backing fabric but didn't. The last time I did, when it came time to frame the piece, I couldn't get rid of a bunch of little 'bubbles' that appeared on the top layer outside some heavily stitched areas. My guess I hadn't stretched the layers tight enough in the hoop before putting a needle through the fabric.

threads close to the object, I plan to go back to the front with a small stitch under the petal or leaf to use as an anchor(grammar police, feel free to reconstruct this sentence <g>). Are either or both assumptions close to the way it should be done?
Ya lost me. <g> Normally there is no need to anchor anything on the front of the work.
Normal and I aren't on speaking terms at the moment ;-) What I meant was to make a small stitch or two under a petal and then use them as anchors for the whipping down of the wires on the back.
Wish I had a picture of that teapot!
soon, Dianne, soon ;-)
