Hi guys,

Not trying to spam you, but I have moved my ebay store that selles
these goods to the US site.

New URL is;

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/The-Great-Industrial-Garage-Sale__W0QQ_ar....

I have also made changes to our shipping arrangements, which are now
done through both USPS and Canada Post, whatever is cheaper.  I think
you'll like the new, lower rates.

Shipping is now FREE for the USA and Canada on any order $50 or over.

This sounds good -- but I see PayPal as the only listed payment
method.  As long as this is the only way to pay, we wont' be buying.
(I don't need any of it right now, anyway.)

I know that eBay is making it more and more difficult to use
other payment systems, but I, personally, do not like PayPal, and don't
have an account.

   Thanks,
           DoN.

I believe that ebay has made it a rule recently that merchants may accept
other means but may not state so in their listings; big stink as you might
guess.

Regardless, I find a lot of sellers will put restrictions in their listings
to keep out the riff-raff; if I'm interested enough to bid but one of those
gets in the way, I email and ask if they'll change it.  Most do.

That's basically it - we can accept other forms of payment, but we
can't ask for it.

The rule change isn't as draconian as it sounds - we can offer credit
card processing with a merchant account or Propay, which is
essentially the same thing.

ebay just wants to make sure that buyers are protected against fraud -
with a credit card, you almost always have the ability to do a charge-
back if you find that you're dealing with a scammer. ebay's trying to
make it unprofitable for scammers to operate, and they've been largely
successful.
