In reference to the "fairness doctrine", what is stopping the left from
putting forth their message? It seems Air America is still out there and
operating.
Who, or what, is going to be the entity to determine what is too far to
the
left or right and needs to balanced with an opposing view?
Will this "fairness doctrine" also apply to the print media? Or the tv
network news programs? And how about National Public Radio?
In my opinion, I have the choice to listen to either side of an issue.
And
to make up my own mind as to whether what is being said is credible or
not.
I do not need a censorship doctrine.

Air America is in bankruptcy. No one wanted to listen to the crap they
spewed. Without listeners, there are no advertisers, no sponsors and no
revenue. "Free enterprise" is one of the things the left hates because
it does not work for them.

How come all the so called free market conservatives are always so ignorant
about economics and free markets? You clearly don't even know what the
definition of a "free market" actually is. Why give an opinion when you have
no idea what you are talking about? For your information, the AM radio
business is dominated by three companies, Premier, Westwood I, and Clear
Channel. They own a minimum of 80% of the market. By definition that isn't a
free market. That is a highly monopolistic market. Now you know AM radio is
not a free market maybe you would like to change your statement. And by the
way, the public airwaves are a gift given out by the government to business
which carries an obligation not to use it as a propaganda arm of a
particular point of view. But that is what the right is doing and is why
they oppose the fairness doctrine. They oppose the idea of fairness
philosophically. They believe in unfairness, as long as they are receiving
the lion's share of the benefits. That is the essence of being a republican.
