Life after a nuke attack, no matter how small..will suck to greater or
lesser degrees..but for most people..it will go on.
But it will indeed be TEOTWAKI. The End Of the World As We Know It..
not the end of the world. 9-11 was in many ways..a TEOTWAKI event.
Shrug. There have been lots of them. Some large..some small. There will
be more in the future.
Yes, yes, yes!!!
The World As We Know it comes to an end regularly: "Life's a bitch and
then you start first grade." ... High School, Graduate, get married, have
the first kid, have the Nth kid. Get a job, lose a job, get sick, get
well, or die. And that is just your personal life. :-) (Some things done
change all that much.)
In the mean time "when I was a boy..." we had telephone "numbers" with
letters in them, flying to Hawaii was an all day and half the night trip,
and you had your choice of First Class or Air Mail. Not to mention that
international phone calls had to be "booked" through an operator, and
"computers" were big mysterious things with a market saturation of four.
"Vietnam was still part of French Indo China (Okay, I missed that by only a
couple years). Well, that world ended, and the one which replaced it -
ended as well.
My Great Grandfather played flute "concerts" for the Valley by setting
outside and playing. Grandpa grew up in a world of horsepower meaning
horses, and hid father getting telephone service by signing up his brothers
in law so the phone company would run a line the miles to the farm; to a
world of Astronauts on the moon, jet planes, and "direct dial" to Europe.
And then the changes really took off.
Yeah, the world as we know it has ended several times. Nov 22, 1963;
1968; May 4 1970; Challenger, and of course, September 11, 2001.
And those are just the ones which impacted the "whole" world, unlike,
say the San Francisco earthquake of 1986.
