We can't even deal with different vendors in the same town without getting new tanks. YMMV

Don't even think about taking the tanks to Europe. Transportation issues
to get them there along with tank certification and regulations will
make it a royal pain. A set of tanks only runs $300 to $350, just sell
them here, buy/lease/rent when you get there. I have almost the same
comments for someone moving between states in the US.
Internationally there will certainly be issues, but within the US it
should be a piece of cake. I moved from CT to TX and took my 80cf owned
Argon tank with me. The trucking company didn't have a problem hauling
it due to the small size and inert gas. In TX I just continue to
exchange it at my local Airgas branch and if I wanted I could also swap
it at Tractor Supply Co. (Thoroughbred gasses) or even Home Depot (BOC
gasses) without issues. Just be sure to keep your receipt for the
tank(s) in the event there are ever questions.
