I plugged it in, it produces voltage. It is an automatic or
semiautomatic machine and is mechanically operated with a little air
motor switched by solenoid valves.
Unfortunately, I only had a very low pressure air source (crapped out
tiny Montgomery ward compressor) in the basement, so the motor only
lifted the head up but would not for some reason make it go down. Not
sure why.
If the solenoid valves are internally piloted, which is usually the case
in all but the smallest solenoid valves, a minimum air pressure is
required to shift the spool, usually around 30 psi. If the valves have
been sitting, it may take more pressure to operate til the spools free
up. Many valves have a manual operator, often a plastic button in the
center of the solenoid.
