That Lincoln SP125 Plus mig welder is sure fun to use. I want to weld
aluminum with it too if practical. The guy at the weld supply said
that only about half the folks using these machines for aluminum were
getting good results. But he wasn't a weldor, and couldn't answer some
of my other questions about MIG welding with the SP125 or SP135. So,
anybody here getting good results welding aluminum with one of these
machines?
Haven't done it myself but there is information about it on the Lincoln site
that may help. It mentions different types of wire and why one works better
than the other. It also has links to other articles including one called
"How to Successfully Weld Aluminum with a Compact MIG Welder" that looks
pretty helpful. They talk about the SP-135 but yours is the same with a
different name.
