Ok guys, I can't find any fiberglass type newsgroups so I might as well
ask
here as you guys seem to have a lot of the answers concerning things
mechanical.
Here's the question. I've heard from a guy that cabon fiber and aluminum
don't get along with each other. The guy didn't know what happens but he
has stated that he isn't going to be putting aluminum and carbon fiber
together in his project. I don't know of any reason why not so clue me in
on this one. The project (a lelescoe) will be subjected to dew problems
which will tend to make the aluminum corrode anyway if it isn't taken care
of in short order. I'd suspect that the only problem that could happen is
that the carbon fibers themselves would cause a galvanic current problem
but
the fiber itself will be fully coated with the epoxy used to hold it
together in a shape.

Why do penguins walk so far to get to their nesting grounds?

Don't know the answer to the fiber - AL question but the answer to your sig
line is that the eggs are laid in the winter. By the time they hatch and
the chicks mature enough to hit the water in the summer, the ice has receded
and the nesting ground is now on the water's edge. Didn't you see "March of
the Penguins"?

Steve.
