Not quite the one which I am thinking of, however. I used that
stage to build a mask alignment system for making hybrid integrated
circuits, with a rather specialized microscope mounted above it. This
was some number of years ago. The glass disk from the stage (which was
replaced with a special holder in my project) was something like 6"
diameter, IRIC.
It came out of a swiss screw machine shop that specialized in under .05
parts. Its got a reticle, radius grid and so forth. A microscope and
comparator. The crosshair and grid is part of the eyepiece..and there is
a fractional degree dial around the base of the eyepiece.
It sounds nice -- but is more than I need overall.
The markings on the label are gone, still read Made In Japan. The
micrometer knobs are .0001 and are Fowlers, the eyepiece is a Nikon.
IIRC -- the micrometer knobs on the one which I used had Nikon
labels on them.
Shrug...Ive used it a couple times looking at sear engagements. Side,
top and bottom illumination.
For that -- my optical comparator would probably do well.
The swivel headed boom microscope at the rear is a variable power
Spencer, and the one next to the servers in the front is a Spencer 40.
I have one of those -- I forget whether mine is AO or Spencer,
but it is quite useful.
The boom microscope probably gets the most use. 15-50x with the 15x
eyepieces on it.
O.K. I only have 10X eyepieces for mine -- so far.
