I'll bet a 'silver oxide' battery will last a lot longer than the one
that comes with it.

Has anyone tried using plastic calipers (which someone pointed out
these are)? Can one get any accuracy out of them at all? I have a all
metal one (used mitutoyo, bought 10 years ago), and have hard times
imagining how I could possibly use plastyic calipers.
