Everything I read says it's a great idea to filter your meadsI have not ever filtered a mead. I'm scared silly that I may strip some
especially for competitions.
Is anyone doing that?
The only filters I have found are made by Boun Vino in Canada.
They make a Mini-Jet and a Super-Jet Filter. Is anyone using
either of these? Opinions will be appreciated.
Is anyone using a filter other than a Boun Vino?

of the delicate aromatics and flavor compounds. I did over fine a star
thistle mead once. I hit it with gelatin, polyclar, and bromelain.
Stripped it to nothing by the time it was clear. I decided then to just
take my time and leave meads a little cloudy if need be. I've had meads
as old as 3 years that did not clear appreciably (montrachet yeast was
the fermenter) that tasted great so I do not put a premium on clarity
anymore.
