The same thing occurred to me. If they are not already brewers, I can't imagine a free 'ingredient' kit being enough incentive to go out and buy even just the basic equipment, such as a fermenter. I think there is great potential for kits to collect dust in the cabinet until the 'boss' tosses them on the next big cleanup.
