Two weeks ago I bought a Masterbuilt Turkey Fryer with 30 Qt. aluminum pot
from a seller on eBay. It still hasn't been shipped so I've told the
seller to refund my payment. In the mean time I found this...
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=45512&hvarDept=350&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=5&hvarSubCode=3&hvarTarget=browse
It looks pretty much like the one from eBay with the addition of the
Turkey Tap. It's also made by Masterbuilt and it has a 30Qt. aluminum pot.
It's also $15.00 more than the one on eBay, but I had planned to add the
$30.00 (plus shipping) "Weld B Gone" tap to the eBay pot so it would have
been about $20.00 more than the set up above.
My questions are, does anyone here have any experience with the "Turkey
Tap" and would I be better off adding the "Weld B Gone" tap to a plain
pot?
Thanks,
Rick Knight
Rick,
Go ahead and put the weld be gone tap into the turkey fryer when you get
one. Later, when you get a used keg (Sabco, $59.00 +shipping) you can take
the tap out of the turkey fryer and re-use it in the keg. I fill my old
turkey fryer with ice and and drop a coil in it to use as a prechiller with
my wort chiller. Just put a cork in the hole in the turkey fryer if you
want to fill it with ice or water. (Put the cork in the inside, of course!)
