Me too. You know, what impresses me about her progress, and you were the
same, is that when she took another step in skill, it was not a fluke
where
something just happened to turn out great, but there was another step in
skill that's reflected in all the work.
I was thinking about what makes Kim Neely so excellent. I think a big
part
of it is that while you or I will have different preferences, there's no
question that she always shows her "best work". No one is going to end
up
with a funky combination or a bead with hidden (from camera) flaw. I've
bought beads from good lampworkers that are just kind of off and it really
dampens my enthusiasm. All Kim Neely's beads are consistent with her
level
of skill. As are yours, and as are Dawn's.
By the way, I love your Sunset Margarita, all aglow in purply-pink and
orangy gold, but of course I love my blues and greens from you even
better.

I love my spoon from Shirley, and I love the many other talents she
progressedto the board, as well as her dear and warm soul. I love the different
people I've been privileged to meet whom I first met on line here.
I remember when you first took that class, Kandice, and I remember when
Dawn
first posted her beads. I am embarrassed to remember that Dawn
allso fast that I thought she might be our troll who wants to be "the best
beader in the world". I love watching people here grow.
I love that I can come here and be in a sort of work environment, since
I'm
unable to work. A variety of people working toward a common (enough)
goal,
and a variety of relationships.
It's really cool.

This is where Shirley's little antique salt spoons get shipped to us
onover the world. I still use mine every day!
This is where a group of people who mostly haven't met in person will
get
together to give one of us a gift certificate for a class to start her
sketchesher path, just because they wanted to. I owe my whole lampwork careeroffline
(my
bliss!) to people on this group. This is where people who start out
as
friends online actually get to meet in person and become really good
friends. This is where I fell in love with beads of all media -
andon
clay, lampwork colors, Swarovski's plays on light, Hill Tribe Silver
ifMORE. This is where we nurture eachother's artistic growth. And
where
we
can let off a little steam. This is where we can get a little support
it'ssomeone cheats us, lies to us, steals from us, hurts our feelings.
This
is
where I click every single time I am done reading my email - even if
trollsjust to scan the post titles. This is where we get to tell off the
Iwithout moderation and then forgive them later.
This is where the world becomes very, very small.
I love you ALL
Thanks Dawn for starting this thread - it's so great!!!!!

This is where I found you guys over two years ago, and this is where
firstbeforefound
the inspiration to follow my dream. I lurked here for almost a year
ever posting. When I made my fist ugly little beads, this is where I
posted
pictures of them and got the support and encouragement I needed to
continue
on. This is where I received helpful advise and later on, my very
oneI'veKLUNK. This is where I found friends that felt like a family. It's
where
we'
ve had squabbles, and it's where we've kissed and made up. It's
where
allread wonderful stories about your lives, and felt like I've known
you
sadalong. This is where I've cried tears of joy for new babies born,
and
tears for the loss of loved ones so dear. This is where we support
overThisanother in times of need, and celebrate each other's
accomplishments.
is where we get to see Kandice's beautiful pink flowers and drool
makeDavid'sKalera's Monday night beads up for grabs. It's where we get to see
penguins and Jerri's gorgeous beads and silverwork, and Butterbean's
new
outfits. This is where we check in during hurricanes and fires to
fromsure
everyone is alright. It's where we learn about life on a longboat
theSu
whenand these are the faces on the wall of Shirley's workroom. This is
where
Sooz shares her advise and her links list, and it's where we all
come
we need a break. It's where we have our morning coffee or sometimes
even
our
evening meal. (This is where a LAMINATED bead size chart from Sooz
comes
in
handy.) This is where it's not just about the beads, it's about us,
stayedpeople of RCB. This is where I found you by chance and it's where I
by choice, and if you ask me where all my friends are..This is
where!
