Re: OT Back from my travels

You did have a lovely wander, Shirley. Cabin cruisers, Tall ships,
damsel flies... it sounds like a wonderful interlude in time. I'm
glad your friend recovered some of her sight! The Power of RCB
Rayers!! Sounds like we need to do more to help her mother now. Sad
to read that her mother had fallen and broken her ankle. :((((
{{{{{{{Pat's Mother}}}}}}}

And now you get to help her pick out a car that _you_ like driving?!
How cool... if it was me, I'd want one of those Mr. Bean cars. They
are SO cute.
Much love,
Linda

: I have been wandering again.
: Pat my friend who went blind and has a little sight returned, asked
us
: to take her to her cabin cruiser on the Norfolk Broads. Pat is
unable to
: drive.
:
: We went to Wroxham to get on the boat. It is the first time we have
been
: in summer, we usually go in the winter.
:
: It was a completely different scene with the river banks coated in
their
: greens. I had never seen damsel flies before but they were there in
: their hundreds in greens and scintillating blues. The fish were
rising
: to catch the flies that unwittingly landed on the water.
:
: Our first stop was In Great Yarmouth were we went to the shops to
: replenish food stocks. Then when the tides allowed and at low water
we
: went under the bridges out to Breyden Water to make the trip to
: Lowestoft. There we went to the harbour to see the tall ships come
in as
: they gathered for the Tall Ship race.
:
: Unfortunately Pat had a phone call from her son to say that her
mother
: had, had a fall. The paramedics were called to lift her and they
said
: she was okay no damage done. The next day the doctor was called in
who
: said inspite of a swollen ankle there was no breaks.
: So on Thursday we set off for home bearing in mind that we could
only
: travel 4 mph on water due to river regulations. A 4 hour journey
home by
: road from Wroxham.
:
: We arrived about 3pm. Pat phoned the doctor again and at 9pm her
mother
: was taken in hospital.
: It was discovered that she had broken two bones in her ankle, also
she
: had a water infection and her diabetes had gone on the rampage.
: She is 84 and a very sick woman.
:
: Pat will find out this next week if it is expected to be able to
drive
: again.
: She is talking of getting a car that I like so I can drive her
around.
: I wish I was 29 instead of 69.
:
: The weather was very good whilst we was away and we had many great
: salads so we did not end up cooking.
:
: Well now I am back and I must make a concentrated effort to build my
own
: website and get some bead work done plus making a start on making my
: Christmas cards since I have to about 100 of them.
:
: Bye for now
: Love
