Re: Dealer stamp listing

I remember, some time back, being miffed at losing
an auction lot of bulk Hutt River labels.
I wanted them badly, and was prepared to pay what I thought was an
exhorbitant price,
I was prepared to go to something like $200.(memory is a bit hazy here)
The hammer was knocked down IIRC at around $350.

After the initial anger subsided, I realised what I always knew, that
people have mixed collecting habits and their own personal niches.
Breaking down that lot, and going through ebay, the purchaser probably
quadrupled his money.
The beauty of a free market is that demand will always set a balanced price,
what you have to be aware of is that the auction environment, will sometimes
(most times) will skew that price either way drastically.
A couple of years ago I bought 12 Pentium 4 computers with Microsoft
licences for
$20 each, I am typing on one right now :)

The vendor of your labels has set a price I would assume that balances his
inventory,
the price he offers them at attracts sufficient money for him to stay in
business.
You can get annoyed at the point that he is selling them in the first place,
and then
that they are so darned expensive, but your feelings are folly, you have to
make
the decision to purchase or just ignore.
Do you not remember when Mette enquired as to some "Hans Christian Andersen"
"P" stamps?
the sheetlets were advertised at $15, way over the face value, and Mette
opted to ignore.

"Ralphael1"
Rodney, in this case there is no need for a link to images. I was
looking for comment on the way these stamps were listed.
The 62 listings for labels is a bit of over kill I think. The price is
also off the wall.
