Re: Scanning colored pages

Here is a link to a sample page, after I've already made efforts to make it look tidier. What my initial posting called "gray" areas really just look darker, but the "dark" is mostly darker yellow or reddish-yellow.

Tried Chris Doran's suggestion (thanks, Chris) but it had no obvious effect.

Jerry's idea (thanks, Jerry) matches what I asked for: someplace to camp out and do lots of scans, but his cost caveat is relevant. On my home scanner, it takes 3+ minutes to take the page out of the *** protector, lay it on the scanner, do the scan and start the next one. (Really know it took about 15 minutes to do batches of five scans--didn't time individual ones). Even if the time is only 2 minutes--maybe Kinko's scanners are faster--that's still four hours of time. Not sure the friend wants to invest that much in archiving.

Took another look at the 112 completed scans. Lightened about half a dozen to improve the appearance. Have pretty much decided that the rest are acceptable as is. I may be a perfectionist occasionally, but I'm a cheap perfectionist.
