The price of gold isn't rising, the value of the US $ is depreciating.
Maybe in theory, but the price of my favorite six pack and the baby back
ribs at my favorite restaurant hasn't changed over the past year or two.
I think most people accept that inflation is inevitable, regardless of how
it's couched or explained by the experts. We accept that there once was a
nickel candy bar that now sells for 69¢, and that the ten cent comic book
now costs well over a dollar. And that in 50 years, these and other prices
will be proportionately higher. Some will say the value of the dollar is
falling while others will say the price of goods is rising. I guess I
prefer the latter, although it doesn't really make any difference.
