"note.boy" sought to set Amistad straight with:
A gun does not posses "awesome power" as you post, it's a device to
propel a small piece of metal very quickly, nothing else. Billy
Sorry, but I must take umbrage with your reply, note.boy. Maybe the guns
you've been around don't possess such power. But when I rack the slide
back on this .45 of mine, cocking the hammer, and pumping a shell into the
chamber that is then ready to roar into astonishing action, that is indeed
"awesome power" in my way of understanding. I must confess, however, that
I am simply an old country boy from the backwoods of Arkansas, and it
might take less to stimulate me in this manner, as compared to the
enjoyment threshold of other individuals.

'learning anew the meaning of "awesome!"'
Owning and using a handgun that fires a round that can penetrate an engine
block or shatter a cinderblock to dust? I would certainly consider that an
awsome responsibility. And an awesome feeling when shooting it. I used to
be in awe as a kid that a simple .22 bullet could travel one mile, farther
than I could see down the street. Every kid had a .22 rifle and awe started
early.
