Hi folks,
Evidently I have done a miserable job in getting my point across in what I
posted here last night. Of those that have replied, only three have
responded to the query -- are you in favor of helping your swap partner by
sharing your collecting preferences, or do you just want to make it a shot
in the dark and hope for the best? Thanks in advance to anyone else who
replies, and responds to that question. Thanks!

OK, guys and gals. It's time to get the ball rolling on making another
swap event to become one that is fun for all who participate in it. If
you have read the earlier thread on this subject (a few days ago), you
realize that not everyone feels the same as regarding what is expected for
a swap gift. So, I'm asking for the help of those of you who want to have
a part in this swap. Here's what I ask that you do --
Drop a note to me at my
summerswap2007ATgmailDOTcom
address. (Make the two obvious changes of @ and . to that string before
sending it.) Your sending a note to me at that address is all that you
need to do to enroll. To further assist me, indicate whether you prefer
to provide some information about your collecting habits and preferences
to your assigned swap partner, or whether you do *not* want to give any
such information. If you elect to provide the info, then you are saying
that you want to give your swap partner something to help him/her be
better equipped to select a gift that you would really like to receive.
If you say that you had rather *not* give any such information to your
partner, then you are saying that you are willing to receive anything at
all within the selected category, even if it is something that you do not
collect and have no interest in collecting. Ergo, you just want to be
surprised, and you'll be happy with whatever you end up receiving.
I'll wait a few days and see what kind of response comes in. I'll then see
what the majority of those who participate are desiring to do regarding
the giving or withholding of the above information, and I'll tailor the
swap form to comply with what the majority wants to do. Thus, you'll not
get a response from me for a few days, and when I write back to you, I'll
enclose the swap form that you must fill out and return to me before you
are duly registered as a swapper.
