Did anyone let the person who won the bills, know what was going on?
Nick
Yes. I did. He cancelled his bid I think. diane
Um, I don't post very often, but this is really puzzling. I wish you
were more consistent with your posting identity, so I could find your
original posts you're referencing. I'd also like to know your ebay
handle, so I could see the auctions you had. Would you be okay with
that?
Look for a thread titled Paper Money, initiated on April 7, 2007 at 8:20
a.m.
My God! I wish I had read that first... This woman is nuttier than a
squirrel turd! I knew she had an identity problem, but it's a full
crises, isn't it?!?!? It even spills onto ebay, with her multiple
accounts, and she even changes THOSE names, wow!
I am virtually speechless after reading her auction terms and feedback
both given and received, it boggles the mind. I truly feel the need of a
sedative. A pshyciatrist could make a career on this one.
The buyer told you after one week the notes had not arrived and
cancelled her payment. That is such a screaming red flag! Could you
image buying something and deciding after one week that it wasn't going
to come and canceling your payment? I'd barely be willing to send an
email asking about it after only one week. And from the US to Canada???
Didn't you have to do a customs declaration (form 2976)? That should
have tracking data on it...
I can personally attest to the fact that mail to and from Canada can take
six weeks.
Yes, I just completed selling some off-the-wall stuff, shipping to Canada
and GB, So to even be -looking- for a package after one week is
unrealistic, yet alone saying it's gone missing?
In a nutshell, You shipped the goods and did not get paid. The buyer
reported the package lost and cancelled payment. That is precisely what
insurance is for. The fact that you "happened" to find your goods in
one of the buyers auctions is immaterial. - Let's create a crazy
scenario: The package actually fell off the truck going down the road to
be delivered, then another person found the notes and took them to a
local dealer found in the phone book. The original buyer happened to go
into that dealers store and found the notes there, bought them, and
listed them on ebay, never making the connection. Highly unlikely, but
it could happen...
Good hypothesis. This would certainly be brought up by the defendant in
the event that this ever came to a lawsuit.
I would file the claim as I would any other claim, and when they
investigate, provide them all the info you have. Take the time NOW to
download all the auction info, pics, etc.
I have read and re-read all of the OP's posts and it appears that she has
not filed an insurance claim.
Makes me wonder if there's more to it than has been disclosed. OP is
certainly not one to let something like ethics, morals, rules, or hurting
someone elses feelings get in the way of what she wants.
I am not familiar with Endicia, but if it offers insurance coverage and
she paid for it, filing a claim would at least establish the delivery
status and indicate whether a next move is even possible. As far as I can
tell, she has not contacted PayPal either. It would be appropriate to
settle both those issues and then come back and present the case as
modified by those findings.
Additionally, just so you know, contacting the bidders of your notes in
tokens-girl's auctions is called "auction interference", and could get
you kicked off ebay. I'm not saying I would have done it any
differently, I probably would have told them too, you just need to know
that. Crooks like tokens-girl really make my blood boil. And with
dollars like this, I might have a hard time sleeping!
It seems potentially very dangerous to indict someone that we don't know,
based on the testimony of someone else that we don't know, someone who
posts under multiple names and provides only anecdotal evidence (sorry,
Diane, the truth is not always pretty). Those who have been on r.c.c.
for a while may remember that the person being accused posted to this
newsgroup at one time and may in fact be reading this thread.
Yep, I was way out of line jumping in like that, I should know better. If
I was going to say anything, it should have been "crooks that do that sort
of thing make my blood boil" and left it at that. I did look up
tokens-girl's feedback and certainly was not impressed, but that doesn't
make her a criminal.

Wanna read something insanely hilarious, or insanely sad, or just insane?
It's Diane's latest addendum to her already *stellar* "sandbox rules" : "I
no longer allow international bidding or shipping. I cannot trust my
packages to arrive and even when they do arrive, I can't trust
international eBayers to tell the truth about receiving them. Hard to
prove receipt of an international package. This is all due to a Canadian
eBayer - You can write me for her name and further proof if you would like
to thank her. She purchased from me, she lied to me and to Paypal saying
she didn't receive an expensive package - later I found the very same
notes I sent to her in her eBay store.. Sorry my International friends,
it isn't your fault, this was a difficult decision to make."
Diane, if you're still reading this, I sincerely believe you should not be
selling on ebay- it's not good for you. I don't think you're intentionally
trying to be a witch, but you are. You think everyone in the universe
"owes you" for your time and trouble. No one owes you squat. No one owes
me squat. If you can't accept a loss and be dignified about it, you should
not be on ebay, or anywhere else for that matter. Jacking up shipping
charges because you didn't get what you "thought" you should is
chicken-***. If one person calls you a horse, don't worry about it, but
if everyone's calling you a horse, go get a saddle.
Now Diane, did you go back to the estate where you bought these rare
notes, after telling them they were worthless, and offer them more money
for them?
Now is when I should prolly run....
Brian
Where should I start. I will start with the last . I bought them from a
DEALER who bought a collection of paper and coins. I initially wanted to
buy just a few notes, and NOT the ones that sold for $$$$$ .. I wanted to
buy some from Sweden I think. But the DEALER said, "all or nothing. $40.00
Changing my eBayIDs .. I sell coins [ sometimes ] I sell tokens and medals
and I sell jewelry. I am trying to change my listings so that when I sell
jewelry, it doesn't list with the charms, because I do NOT charge postage at
all on the jewelry, I sell by gram weight, PERIOD and when I sell a charm
for a bracelet, it sells for maybe 99 cents and I cannot ship for free, pay
my fees and such for 99 cents. So I will be listing ALL my jewelry as soon
as my auctions with the notes end on the RENAMING of my ebayid to 925 etc ..
because I sell silver. I changed the jewelry account to Charm Farm because
I am going to put up a store there and just do charms.
The tokens are tokens and I will continue to sell tokens there. I still
have a fist full of notes and if I don't just drop them in the trash, I will
list them.
I HATE SELLING INTERNATIONAL .. Tokens-Girl was the straw that broke the
camels back but maybe you are luckier than I am but let me tell you that
last week or the week before with my tokens id I sold about a half dozen
canadian tokens. My auctions say deduct $1 combined shipping US and $2
canada. and adjust your insurance to include coverage in full. So I sold 6
tokens to someone in canada. I spell everything out as plainly as I can
because of what happens next. The Canadian says, "combined shipping
please." I invoice him the correct amount, I deduction $2 for each
additional blah blah blah .. and reduce the insurance. He writes me that I
reduce it further to just actual postage alone or he doesn't want them. He
bid - He won - He is under contract as far as ebay goes. But I write and
say, ok, forget it. You are off the hook. I have to wait to request my
fees back and then yesterday he writes "ok, I am ready to pay .. " I didn't
even give him a strike. I just took those tokens, threw them in with a lot
that I sold and they are gone. He wants his tokens.
So, you think I shouldn't be angry ?? I shouldn't fly off the handle? What
would you do at this point ?? I have a million stories about international.
They agree to EVERYTHING .. even sometimes I have to add them as ok to bid
after telling them shipping will be $2 more .. Auction ends but of course
it doesn't show international shipping because I wasn't going to ship
international . .but I go ahead and be a nice guy and the buyer won't pay
the addl shipping. All the sudden can't even speak English.
I sell a charm. My auction say NO RETURNS except for listing or shipping
errors. Buyer pays LATE after I sent a ebay non paying bidder .. I close
the non paying bidder complaint, paid !! Buyer doesn't like the charm. She
wants a refund. I give her a refund. She still hasn't left feedback.
Should I smile ?? Should I leave her feedback ?
I cannot close my auctions completely until feedback has been left by both
parties. I ask for feedback first in my auction. My ebay software is slow
as hell because of all the people that don't leave feedback. I give in ..
leave about 100 feedback to see what I get in return on old auctions.
NOTHING .. and it isn't because I ship crap. I ship GREAT jewelry. CHEAP
GREAT SILVER. Everytime I have my software do an update of my seller
accounts it is looking for over 1,000 feedback that has not been left for a
few years. I twidle my fingers waiting. I tried archiving the sales with
no feedback. Doesn't make a difference.
I got a negative from a guy who said my shipping fees were too high. He
wanted me to just put his coin in a 39c envelope. I said no, he had to pay
the $2.50. So I get a negative. Let me add that his auction sold for ONE
CENT !! I was out 19 cents just by listing it. AND he pays with Paypal.
Another 35 cents.
All my email addresses or names on usenet. SORRY. I have 5 computers that
I use. One desktop at home, one desktop at my office [where i use a
different username. ] one laptop at my office .. 2 laptops at home. All my
usernames are je.wink .. I don't use my real email address when I post to
usenet because I have more than enough spam already.
You think that I fly off the handle ?? Well, I came here asking about those
notes saying "what do I do, I just found they were valueable. should I
cancel my auctions ?? please advise. " and that was on or about April 6th.
Go look. I was coming here for help and I was treated as if my name was one
of the MUCH despised people from long ago that I will not mention. I
snapped back but the snide friggin remarks were uncalled for. I have lurked
here for years and years. I have seen how some of the posters get nasty and
sarcastic with other posters. That is why I said what I said about "go
ahead, beat me up."
I will use YOU as a rep of this newsgroup and you will not see me post in
here again. If I get hostile regarding ebayers that is because sometimes I
list thousands of auctions a year. And believe me .. I didn't have sandbox
rules when I started listing on eBay 5 years ago, when ebay was fun. So
there. I am done. I don't care if you believe what happened in the first
auction and the rip off that Tokens Girl pulled. I added that part about
her to my auctions because she f'd me .. and I am pissed and you would be
too !!! GOOD BYE RCC ...
