Guess I like getting beat up in this newsgroup, because I came back, even
though I promised myself I would never do it again. Enjoy yourselves !!

Let me refresh your minds. I listed on eBay a month ago some nice
notes - started all the auctions at 99 cents and when the week was over I
was about $9,000 richer .. hurray for me !!!!

For those that hated me for just being lucky and picking up on a great
deal, you will love what followed.

As I said, I started bidding at 99 cents and within a short time I was
getting offers from people all over the place to sell off eBay. I had
watchers and bidders so I refused to end the auctions. Most of the
offers came from France. One offer came from Canada and I told that
person the same thing. "Sorry, I have bidders and watchers." then I
added, but I have others that I haven't listed yet. To make a long story
short, I scanned images and accepted an offer for 21 notes. These
weren't all consecutive like the ones I was listing, but good notes I
found out later.

That person paid me with Paypal and I shipped before I learned that these
notes were worth about 20 times or more what I accepted for them. OK ..
I should be more informed, but I wasn't. I shipped the notes and insured
them. I couldn't put any kind of tracking on them from my Endicia
software, but they were insured and I felt good. Dropped them off at the
post office. That night someone wrote me and told me of their value. I
almost fainted. But what was done was done ..

A week later the buyer canceled the Paypal payment. Said they were NOT
received. I couldn't provide tracking and Paypal refunded the payment.
I had to wait 45 days to collect the insurance. It is just 45 days now
and I last week I found my notes, the ones I was at least smart enough to
scan and write down the serial numbers for sale on that eBayers auction
site. That eBayer is Tokens-Girl. I can't get the money from Paypal. It
is gone. I can't file an insurance claim, because I would be committing
fraud to do so. They were delivered. The post office won't let me do a
postal fraud claim because they say they delivered the mail, they did
their job.

SO .. anyone have any ideas ??? I mean, after you finish laughing at me
...

Say, weren't you the one who suggested that we all had small...er,
personalities?

For openers, I might suggest you look up tokens-girl via "Advanced
Search." That's not as easy as it used to be, but it's still doable if one
is persistent.

Second, one week is dreadfully short to expect shipments to go between the
U.S. and Canada or vice versa. I have waited as long as six weeks for
eBay winnings from Canada, and have no reason to doubt that it is any
different in the other direction. Customs is the bottleneck, I am told.

I would wait the requisite time as dictated in the terms of whatever
insurance you used, then file a claim.

And please, even if you don't like my advice, don't start swearing at me
and calling me names. I'm doing the best I can.

Whoa, now that I have re-read your posting, I see something altogether far
more serious. I would say that a personal contact by phone with the folks
at PayPal is your first line of offense for initiating redress of your
grievance. When you contact them, make sure you have all your documentation
at hand, ready to fax or otherwise send to them. I'm very doubtful that
anything can be done through legal channels when international fraud is
suspected, but I'm not a lawyer. You probably should choose a lawyer and
lay out your case with him/her if PayPal doesn't come through.
