Howdy folks,
Looks like the previous thread on this issue has scrolled off the group.
But
since several of you good folks made comments regarding my tenacity in
going
after rebates, I decided to post again. After "staying on them" for
several
weeks, I finally received the rebate check for $25 from SimpleTech
yesterday. But, alas! A different one for $40 from CA Associates has
generated another one of those aggravating situations. In response to my
query of a few days ago, they replied that they "have no record of
receiving
any rebate information from me." So, off I go after that one.
FWIW, I'm now convinced that these rebate houses do all they can to make
the
end user throw up his hands in frustration and hope that he ultimately
cries
out in resignation, "Oh, the heck with it!" Not so with me, friend! I
plunge in headlong to the challenge once again! :-)

'ain't no rebate goon gonna intimidate none of me!'
Sure a shame that this story seems to be common. I long ago quit buying
anything with a rebate, partly for this reason. The other reason is that
one pays sales tax on the rebate amount - on a $10.00 rebate, the amount is
$10.00, LESS sales tax, LESS postage, LESS your time & frustration.
Companies offering rebates have learned to get along without me.
