Yeah, but it's shorter than a conventional 19'' monitor so you have to
scroll all the way down if there is something you want to see near the
bottom of the page...
I was reading yesterday that a 19'' widescreen monitor has the same
vertical
dimension as a...17'' monitor!
A 20'' wide monitor has the same as a 18.1'' normal.
And only a 21'' wide monitor has a vertical side bigger than a 19''
conventional monitor!

Ah, but if I purchase the optional height adjustable stand I can
rotate the screen to vertical and the display will automatically
change to a vertical orientation....ta-da...less scrolling.

:-)
Yep, you are right!
I am on a 18.1'' Sony monitor and I am thinking to upgrade to a 21'' wide.
LG has a model (L204WT) at a good price which is not top of the line but
nevertheless a decent monitor with a very attractive price: 20.1'' wide,
299
euros...

Be careful not to buy a flat screen monitor that's too big as they have an
optimum viewing angle and if you buy one that's too big you will have to
wiggle your head about sometimes to get the best view of some parts of the
screen, I have a19" and would never get a bigger one. Billy
