Some people are using a laser to improve the appearance of a coin
to increase its value.
From what I hear this can be done while a coin is raw or in a slab
as
well which makes this very dangerous. How widespread the practice
is I don't know but I understand many experts are being fooled.

It would take someone with great skill to do this I would guess.
I'm not sure how widespread
the practice is at this time.

Huh? Lasering a coin thru the plastic slab? I'd have to see it to
believe it.

Admittedly ignorant in this area of technology.
