How, from a USNET newsgroup, would one garner the info on what eBay
username one is using to bid?

Some people use their ebaY username in their sig line, especially if
they're regular sellers on ebaY.
Otherwise, one could just use the email addy you provide with your NG
posts (providing it's a real email addy). Do a search for that email
addy on ebaY, and you get the ebaY username of the person.
