but..but...but he lied....about SEX!!!

And here we have the "try to make the other side's point for them,
while distorting it" tactic. A weak one, to be sure, yet they keep
coming back to it. No, he lied _under oath_, _to congress_. And then,
he looked straight into the camera, and lied to the world. He can't
help it, he couldn't tell the truth if he wanted to. He doesn't know
how.
I wasn't going to respond to this "response" but I must. In what way
is the outcome of lying about a sexual episode the equivalent of lying
this country into a war which has destroyed thousands of lives and
changed our beloved country? Does the author of the response not
remember that we went to war to defend against an impending attack
with nuclear weapons and biological agents? Do you not recall the
rush to buy gas masks and tape and survival kits? Is all of the fear
mongering just a figment of the imagination of some misguided liberal
thinkers who don't like the present administration? Does it make any
sense to you that it is now necessary to remove your shoes before
boarding an airliner because someone insanely tried to blow up a plane
with explosives in his shoes? I find myself shaking my head in wonder
at what has happened here. We are a proud and free people who cherish
our hard-won rights. And yet we run around like children who just
learned about the boogey man and believe the nonsense we are fed as
though we have no common sense. There are not two sides here. It has
always been honorable to criticize our leadership. Wasn't this one of
the primary ways we contrasted our reality with the former Soviet
Union? Or China? Or Nazi Germany? It isn't Bush haters vs. Bush
lovers. It is we, as a people, opening our eyes to the insanity, and
calling out what we see.
The comment about lying about SEX was intended as a wry piece of
irony. He didn't lie about something that, to me, really matters-
peace or war in the world. Our people. Our country. Our values.
Our economy. Our sense of fairness.
The present administration has affected all of these, and more.
We are sending our young men to do their duty to defend us from our
enemies, to die if need be. Why? To try to instill democracy at the
point of a gun in a land whose history is in no way like ours, a land
that we barely understand, if at all? Insanity.
rant off<
BTW, does anyone in the federal administration collect coins?
Just wondering.
Aram.
