Are you claiming that the nut is actually SS? If so, I don't believe you.
It looks nothing like SS in any condition.
Or, are you claming some sort of SS plating? I have never seen this done to
fastening hardware, and would be a complete misapplication.
A quick check to Fixe's web site shows they do make a *plated bolt*. This
would be ***-metal plated to look pretty so morons like Slime will buy it.
They specifically warn on the site that it should only be used indoors.
So - is this what I am looking at in the picture?
