After my MGA died when I worked at the KC Star, I bought a new Bug. Might have been a 65. $1350 including FM radio. Anyway, the assignment editor had me running to small towns in Missouri for the sort of color feature stories the paper liked in those days. Lots of two lane roads, lots of trucks coming the other way. Many a time I thought the Bug was going to go into low earth orbit.
I can report, however, that it was possible to get laid in the back seat of a VW. In Columbia, Missouri, in the parking lot of a dorm at Christian College.
We're proud of you, Harry. We're especially glad you shared with us
the fact that you got laid. You've gone way up in my estimation.
