that's exactly what I'm using, and I get an error when I try to access
newsgroups that says:
A news (NNTP) error occured: Access denied via @ auth server
Thanks for your help, by the way!

Is the correct name for the server "newsgroups.comcast.net"
or is it:
"news.comcast.net" ???
I don't use the comcast server but used to. When I did it was the
latter.

I've talked a few
newbies into setting up their computers. It's not that complicated, andNo they don't you lying ***.
the comcast site has explanations and even "pictographs" for the
semi-literate.

any tech help for setting up Agent.

Google "comcast usenet connection" in Google Groups and you will find that many folks have problems with their Usenet connections.
Spend a couple bux a month and get a "real" news service.
What could be more pleasing than watching, even third-hand, loogy, the dumbest foch-up in rec.boats history, having problems setting up T'bird to handle newsgroups?
I could get him up and running in a two minute phone call, if he were smart enough to follow simple directions. But it wouldn't be as much fun.
There are problems with Comcast, not related to T'bird.
There are problems with every ISP's news servers from time to time. Last week, for example, COX lost access to some of its servers for a couple of days.
I would still bet on Loogy being too stupid to figure out what to do. He is really truly stupid.
