I don't like to troll for stripers very much, but if I get talked into

me it is a lot more fun than dragging and then reeling in some ungainly
umbrella rig.


I heard the larger ones can give one hell of a fight. While I have
caught and eaten large mouth, with my limited fishing experience I have
never caught a striper. Do you ever bring them home for a dinner?

They can, but the bigger ones can get lazy - it's their weight take
makes it a fight.

Larger school fish, 24" to 30", will give you a good tussle and the
smaller fish on light tackle can be a lot of fun. They aren't much on
tail walking or jumping preferring to roll and dive - in particular
when they get to the boat.

Personally, I like them as a sport fish - taste - eh, not so much.
