We will be purchasing a 46"~48" HGTV shortly, with a Sony Bravia 46"
1080p LCD HDTV high on the list.
The TV will be going into our family room which is presently set to
receive premium HD service from TWC.
How difficult is it to set up and calibrate these TV's? Is it something
that you need to contract out or is it a DIY project?
TIA!
Calibrate?
We have two HDTVs. No calibration. Five cables (if memory serves) out of
the cable box into the TV. One expensive as hell video cable out of the
DVD player into the TV. Turn it on. That's all we did.
Thanks. But I have always calibrated the color settings on our TV's using
the Avia DVD calibration program. Are you saying this is not needed on
the new HDTV sets?
It's all a mater of personal preference. Like you I have always calibrated
my CRT sets using Video Essentials. I haven't bought a flat screen yet,
waiting for availability of local channels in HD off the satellite. The up
side is, the longer I wait improvements are made and the prices come down.
