There is certainly a lot of gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands
going on in the political arena today regarding Christians. That
got
me to thinking about it, and this sticks in my head:

After throwing out extremism, which is present in some form in ANY
group/belief, you have the vast core of people left. The 99% of
Christians, who are not extremist, try to live their lives
following
some basic rules. Boiled down, the rules are:

1. Have no other gods before me [the God of the Hebrews].
2. Make no images of anything in heaven, earth or the sea, and do
not
worship or labor for them.
3. Do not vainly use the name of your God [the God of the Hebrews].
4. Do no work on the seventh day of the week.
5. Honor your parents.
6. Do not kill.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not give false testimony against another.
10. Do not desire another's wife or anything that belongs to
another.

So now, if you do not beleive in God, throw out the first four, as
they apply only if you are a believer. Can anyone seriously argue
against the remaining six? Do you really have a problem with
someone
who lives their life following those six rules?

Before you start blathering about "forcing rules and beliefs on
people", remember that sword cuts both ways. If my group wants to
do
"A", and your group wants to do "B", and then your group gets voted
into power and enacts "B", you've just done to me what you were
screaming about me possibly doing to you. It's called Democracy.
Don't like it? Wait around a few years, and you'll get a chance to
change it.

Now have fun... I have work to do. On Sunday.

Some people are not sharp enough to seperate the people from the
doctrine.. Others just hate religeon because religeon asks questions
that require self advocacy and personal responsiblility.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Personal responsibility? An awful lot of religious people defer
difficult
questions to a higher power, rather than think about things
themselves.
That's infantile.- Hide quoted text -

Wrong again, we defer no decisions to him, we, like say astrologers
and numreatists go to the iron staff of the Lord for guideance. Your
stereotypes are not only insulting but ignorant. But then again when I
saw it was you responding, I knew I would be wasting my time..

+++++++++++++++++++++

What the *** is a "numreatist"? It's a bit early in the day for you to
be
drunk, don't you think?

Or, written your way: I be early day drunk you bit be too maybe?

Quick name-calling! Good job, Doug!

Starting to notice a pattern here from the "fantabulous four"? It's a
defence mechanisim... grade school stuff for those who can't really
keep up or are not honest and informed enough to have anything
intelligent to add...

It's hard to figure out what to add to when you write like a two year
old.- Hide quoted text -

Or when you run from a question like a 5 yo... you have nothing to add
here, you can't face the simplest of questions..

Looking backward, I don't see that you've asked a question clearly. Ask it
again and I'll answer it. Make sure it's directly connected with the topic
of this specific thread, which is hinted at by the subject line.

"Make sure it's directly connected..." What a friggin joke!

Doug never changes the subject!
