all the way around. Unless its 6 months to a year old I wouldnt
have even
wasted the time.
If you think XP works great on that laptop, you should try windows 98.
I am sure it'll be blazing fast on there. Can't do crap with it but
it'll fly!

for the wind-down period after the park. Try as I might, it kept producing
an "unspecified error."
Oh well, forget that one, let's try another. This one had different errors,
but the result was the same... no workie. Aint this wunnerful!
Bottom line, I formatted the drive again, and XP Pro is re-installing as we
speak. I've been around computers for 25 years, so I know what I'm doing. I
really don't mind all of this, it just takes some time. If I were your
average computer user though, I'd be tearing up the tech support line!
Vista may work for many, but if it doesn't do what YOU need it to do, it's a
waste. Unfortunately, there's no way to know until you install it, and there
is NO uninstall.

Yet another consideration when deciding whether to go with PC Nav.
With the onset of VISTA, all of a sudden the world is filled with
computers that can't communicate with one another. My XP won't read
files created on VISTA.
Somebody tried to send me a photo from a VISTA machine, and it arrived
in something like 55 parts. "Emailing 1 of 55, emailing 2 of
55,.....etc". Even then, none of the parts looked anything like a
photo.
Somebody recently complained that their PC Nav program couldn't be
transferred from XP to VISTA under any circumstance.
And what's with "compatability"? Did Microsoft spell it that way?
Emailing back and forth with folks trying to send me material from
VISTA as well as a few mentions of the function in this thread has
unearthed this weird spelling being used almost exclusively. (The more
common spelling is compatibility).
The comment from the guy who sent out the 55-part picture? "I'm
kicking myself for not taking this opportunity to switch to a MAC
format."
