Why am I not surprised?
I'm really confused about how this is boating related.
And I wonder how your reply is boating related Chuck.
Why snip the boating related material to ask a ridiculous question? Some
would sense a little dishonesty there, or an inability to read. From
Chuck's post:
"To bring the discussion closer to topic- have you noticed that the once
standard brochure photo used for big express cruisers seems to be
nowhere in sight these days?
Talk about props and staging- If I had a buck for every image ever
published of a balding, middle-aged, pot-gutted guy at the helm of one
of these boats with two or more bikini clad bimbos sipping martinis
(sometimes wearing heels!) and shooting lusty glances his way, I
wouldn't have to pay for lunch the rest of the month. Somebody finally
wised up and figured out that the guy may be the initiator of most boat
purchases, but if he's married he's going to need his wife's consent or
permission about 95% of the time. He sees the bimbos in the photo and
says, "Honey, I want to buy a boat! Look at the beautiful lines on this
one!". She sees the bimbos in the photo and says, "No way are you going
to get one of those!" :-)

John
Let me explain this slowly to you John so you understand.
He starts off jumping on me for posting OT.
He then starts in a political rant:
=============================
There is a long established precedent
for distorting the news and exaggerating issues with emotional trigger
images or downright lies.
For example:
http://www.thinkprogress.org/2005/12/14/silent-night-fraud/
If you can't get close to the truth from folks who constantly claim to
be "fair and balanced", what sort of hope is there to find angels among
folks who will tell you they are simply "in the news business"?
The Mickey Mouse dolls are props. They make the photos more interesting
and also help provide a sense of scale. I'll betcha a buck the use of
such props is encouraged and almost demanded by the editors supervising
the photo-journalists. Does that excuse it? No. Do the tweaked photos
mean that the Israelis and Hezbollah didn't bring down a lot oof
buildings and kill a lot of folks during their recent war? No, of
course not.
==============================
He closes with a post about boating and claims his post is not off
topic.
In comes DSK, Reggie, Kevin and yourself to then jump on me and turn
it into a 16 post thread bashing me.
And to think that it all started with an innocent OT post. How funny.
