It runs! And, THANKS!

Spent a few hours working on the boat today - dewinterizing. Put the
batteries in, after checking all the fluids, and went to crank the engine.
Heard only a loud click from the solenoid. The lights, bilge pump, blower,
etc. all worked just fine. Rechecked connections to make sure they were
tight, even those on the starter. Then borrowed the jump-starter from the
marina. Still got only a loud click from the solenoid.

So, I decided to take the batteries back out, take them home and put them
back on the charger. They'd been sitting in the back of the boat for about
three weeks. When I went to remove the wires, 'lo and behold, I found
another ground wire laying off to the side that I hadn't connected.
Connected it, and the engine fired right up. Yippee!

TIP - Next time I'm on the boat I will wire tie all the wires that go to
each terminal on the battery so none get 'lost'.

Now for the GOOD NEWS! In the few short hours that I was gone, the
donations to the breast cancer foundation have almost reached the $2000
mark. Wow! The support you guys are providing is unreal.

Thank you so much!

Here - you can see for yourself:

I've got to admit that matching your contributions makes me feel a whole
lot better than putting over $200 worth of gas in the boat does!

'Til next time,
