Let me start out by saying that I am not an audio engineer nor do I
play one on the internet. Following along from this whole discussion,
primarily led by the former Eisboch, I'm theorizing that the EMF
induced by the coil is now in parallell, and out of phase, with the
EMF coming from the amplifier. Since the speaker wire is presumably
bi-directional the induced EMF would be seen by any other speakers in
parallel with the first, and thus represent a form of low level
distortion. That's the theory as I understand it, no practical
experience or experimental data to back it up. :-)
As Einstein would have said, this is a thought experiment.
Fortunately for the world of physics, Albert never became caught up in
a rec.boats discussion.
