9/11 had nothing to do with it, eh? The loss of billions in stock market
capitalization due to unscrupulous accounting practices, insider trading,
and the dot com bubble had nothing to do with it either, right? The fact
that we're fighting a war that was waged on us in 2001 had no effect on the
deficit either?

You really seem to have your head pretty far up your turd cutter.

The fact is that we were in a recession in early 2001 (2 months into Bush's
presidency), got a major jolt on 9/11, and the only things that saved us
from an extended recession were the tax cuts and increased government
spending.
