Re: duplicate nav lights panel



Why not just route a large size wire from the feed to the existing nav light
switch back to the engine controls? You would then have to have both
switches on to illuminate but you could leave the panel switch on and have
control from the helm. There might be times you forgot and had to run back
and flip the other switch to get the lights one but they would be very
infrequent compared to switching them on every time from below decks. You
could always switch the lights off from the helm which might be important in
waters where piracy and hijacking were dangers. You would still be able to
turn the nav lights off from below when anchoring or mooring but you would
have to remember to turn the panel switch on sometime the next day.

I've never seen three way switches for 12 V systems and you shouldn't use
110 volt non-marine stuff.
