By the way, what version of the Amel are you referring to?
Sharki 41
four
months. He brought her from Venezuela and evetually sailed her to
Europe
but is now back in Venezuela. But I was surprised at its narrow
beam.
Super Maramu is the one I want.
Grossly overrated boat. The only thing it really has going for it is
the
snob factor. Get a fast, safe, practical boat. Get a Swan.

And there is Willie-boy standing alone in the wilderness and shouting
into the void.
There are three Amils down the dock from me and no Swans so the
multitudes have responded...we don' wan no stinkin Swans.

You judge boats by odd standards - how well and how long they sit at a
dock. I judge boats by more realistic standards - how well and how long
they sail. Who's is the more appropriate standard? The standard that
does or the standard that sits. Hmmmmm! So much for your lame argument.
Wilbur Hubbard
Jesus Willie, but you are stupid or have a short attention span,
because I have told you all this before.
The three Amils that are down the dock from me are about half way
round on their circumnavigation and stopped here for the season.
One does not set off across the Indian Ocean during the S.W. Monsoon
season as there would be head winds all the way across. Much better to
wait a few months until the N.E. winds start blowing in December so
you have a down hill run all the way.
But then if one has never done any sailing except on Sunday
afternoon's they probably wouldn't know are about trade wind and
monsoon sailing, would they?
From your postings I suspect that you are nautically challenged (to bepolitically correct) and the only way that you have of judging boats
is by reading about them in the boating magazines..... I mean, a Swan
with a "vastly superior" 9.9 HP, 4 stroke, outboard bolted on the
transom?
