Starting to see them around here. I came upon the season's first flock
of American Pipits in a couple of neighbourhoods today. Then I came
home and found them on my front lawn. I love watching these little
birds with their tail bobbing actions.

Won't be long before Snow Buntings arrive!

Migration is getting underway here in SC Raptors and passerines are
streaming through the mountains, shorebirds are gathering on the
coast. Since I live in the center of the state, migration is not as
evident in my yard. I do get the occasional migrating warbler, vireo
or thrush and of course my daily bunch of hummingbirds. Winter birds
are not here yet. this time of year I keep my ear tuned for the first
sound of "Canada, Canada, Canada oh sweet Canada!"
