importance of light gathering. Spending several hundred dollars more
in some manufacturers' lines results in brighter images. Yet, how many
birders (me included) look through their binos and scopes with light-
sensitive transitional eyeglass lenses. Even in relatively low-light
situations, my glasses get quite dark. To what extent does use of such
lenses cause degradation of the "rating" of birding optics. Has anyone
studied this?
