Supernews was Purchased by Giganews. The turn over was on about
4/1/08. If you had filters set up especially aimed at Goggle groups
like I did the Newsreader stalled. This with MT-Newsreader.
Bill who called his ISP after getting error messages pointing in that
direction. I cured my problem by deleting any filter that had Google in
it. This on a Mac 10.5.2
No heads up ;(((
It took me a while to figure things out too. There was a
major renumbering done at the same time. So if your news
reader keeps track of the last post by article number it may
not be showing new postings (they have smaller numbers now,
news reader thinks you have already read them).
If you are now reading this post the point is moot, you most
likely have caught up with the numbering. Otherwise you may
want to try sampling or re-subscribing to newsgroups that
aren't showing any new posts. Beware you may lose some old
postings in the process and/or have to sort through some
posts you have already read again.
