news:1185743944.705985.74990@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> We have a robin in our yard that has a very annoying call. It sounds
like a child's pea whistle...and it calls over and over. This spring
is when it all began. The bird is especially noisy early morning and
all evening, but is heard throughout the day. It looks like any other
robin. Can anybody explain this strange phenomenon?
Juvenile?
Nope....It's been going on for months already. We have had a
blueberry farm for over 50 years and have attracted many hundreds of
robins to our crops. This bird is out of the ordinary. Thanks for
your guess, though!
This is a common call that many people have never
noticed/associated with Robins. Be glad you only have one
Robin doing this, I have a whole yard full at times :)
Seriously though, I suspect more Robins are doing the same.
Seems to be most common in the early morning and towards
dark as you noted.
