Hummer quandary

The enclosed photo shows a corner of my living room. At the top of each
window you can see a feeder. In May (before nesting) the one at the
left was a 48 ounce PP. It was extremely busy especially just before
dark. The one at the right was seldom used. Now that they are back,
the feeder at the right (now a 48 ounce PP) is very busy - requiring
refilling about once a day. The one at the left (now a 12 ounce PP) is
seldom used. What would account for the change?
