number of things, but the presence or absence of your feeder isn't one of
them. However, if you put one out, and they pass by, they will use it and
appreciate the energy boost.
Don't worry about a freezing night, hummers hibernate at night to conserve

I have had one feeder up in NC, but so far I think I have only been feeding
bees and ants
