LOL ... don't worry, Pam.... I'll never be out of heat with a huge
woodstove in the basement! We'd be warm enough and fed too 'cause you
can cook on 'em if you need to.
Sometimes the cold up here is easier to handle than the heat.
"Sometimes" being the operative word here!

Tammie,
I don't know how you stand temperatures when the high for the week is
not
above 0 C
I can always get "nekked" and take a cool shower. If your heat goes
out, I
cannot imagine trying to survive and do daily tasks while bundled like
the
Michelin man.
Cheers, SpringPam
Central TX where we have low 100s, AND it feels like Houston humidity.
Down here, you CAN'T take a cold, or even slightly cool, shower, because
the TAP water is well over 90 degrees...
And once you're naked, well, what else CAN you take off???
My usual daytime attire is lightweight running shorts and tank top. If
the air conditioner were to fail, it would be well over 100 in the house
before long, even though the house is well insulated and has all double
pane tinted windows... This morning, the overnight LOW was 88 degrees.
I've seen it when the overnight low was over 100, though that's quite
rare. Today's high is supposed to be 113, followed by 111 tomorrow, and
114 on Friday...
At least when it's cold, you can keep on adding layers, or throw another
log on the fire... When it's hot and you're naked, your options for
getting more comfortable run out fast, if the air conditioning isn't
working... Shade helps, but not much...

.... and TODAY, it's ALREADY 115 at 12:55 PM, with a forecast of 117.
Since the day's high here usually doesn't HAPPEN until around 5 or so, it
could EASILY make 117, or even a degree or two beyond THAT...
Whew! Not a record, but frost is DEFINITELY out!!!
