I don't do much owling in the summer, but I would guess that this is
less of a time for calls related to mating and more of a time for calls
related to family groups - parents with juveniles.
I have never heard of Barred Owls coming in to taped (or human-
produced) calls. Doesn't mean it can't happen, though ...
so is
the owl that was right by me could possibly be one of the same to owls
that I was talking to earlyer?
Possible, but hard to know one way or the other.
