Tree Swallow

Looked out the door this morning. One lone tree swallow perched on the
roost by the martin gourds. The gourds were put up for martins but the
tree swallows were already entrenched and ran them off. Haven't seen a
martin since. A couple of years ago a pair of tree swallows decided to use
the gourds so we leave a couple up for them.
No sign of any other tree swallow. I thought they would arrive enmass or
at least in pairs. I hope they haven't deserted me. Did see a pair of
bluebirds near a box and have a trap set where some house sparrows planned
to set up.
I'll keep you posted. The tree swallows are my favorite bird. I'll I cry
if the don't come back.
