Red-bellied woodpecker and Brown creeper

The day after Christmas the male red bellied woodpecker returned!
We haven't seen any red bellied woodpeckers for months since the
local gov cleared out all the old trees on town property near
our house to make a "park". (Personally, it was more of a park
before they cut down the trees!)

I don't know if this is the original male or maybe one of the
young ones he was feeding in prior years. We've had a male red
bellied here all year for quite a number of years until this
summer when the trees came down. The female seems to disappear
in the winter but not the male.

And when I saw the woodpecker the brown creeper was on the
same tree about a foot higher on the trunk! I've only very
rarely seen a brown creeper here and now one has appeared
twice this winter. Haven't seen the creeper at the suet
dough feeder. But now the male and female downies and the
carolina wrens have to share suet with the red bellied again!
